Galapagos Duck Review

On Sunday 19th January 2020, GALAPAGOS DUCK, Australia's favourite  jazz group whipped the audience at the  Caloundra Power Boat Club into an enthusiastic frenzy.

THE DUCK, just somehow from their opening with Willi Qua's “Sharkey on the Prowl” followed by “Cuban No 1”, does this to audiences.  Led by John on bass, Rodney on drums and great vocals, supported by Peter with his superb trumpet solos and vocals, Richelle playing reeds and the Steel Drum which enthrals audiences, and Will, with his immaculate keyboard solos, the afternoon was complete with every style of music.

Cindy Lauper's beautiful “Time after Time”, Richelle's steel drum songs, The Duck's performance of “Caravan” and Will's solo tribute to Oscar Peterson, Peter and Rodney leading the crowd into a duet with the raucous “CC Rider” what more could you want?  Yes, and we had it with Yellow Jackets “Revelation”.  The final applause acknowledged by the boys who encored with audience participation “Choo, Choo, Choo Boogie”. Another standing ovation and why not?  Thanks GALAPAGOS DUCK, you never disappoint.
