REVIEW - DEZZIE D AND THE STINGRAYZ

On Sunday 19th June at the Caloundra Power Boat Club the club jumped, bounced with 60s,70s,80s, music from the swinging DEZZIE D & THE STINGRAYZ.  The opening chord from the STINGRAYZ, then the powerful vocal from DEZZIE D, took us back in time to the rocking music we knew so well.  Peggy Lee's “Fever” was sung with authority by Dezzie D with solid Stingrayz support. “Knock, Knock” and “Jump Jivin” were just two of the songs that had the dance floor bouncing with rock and rollers.

The second set opened with THE STINGRAYZ theme from “Peter Gunn” the old TV hit. The music continued non-stop.  A beautiful Etta James ballad “I'd Rather Go Blind” was sung perfectly by Dezzie D with an outstanding tenor sax solo from Dan.  A Louis Jordan classic “Ain't nobody here but us chickens” was fun. The STINGRAYZ are a tremendous group of talented musicians with wonderful arrangements that support Dezzie D so well.  The music flowed and the dance floor was packed. A wonderful afternoon of music from DEZZIE D & THE STINGRAYZ.
