MOJO WEBB presents CHICAGO BLUES CELEBRATION
Think of Chicago Blues performers in the 50-60's, then think of Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Howlin' Wolf, and Hound Dog Taylor who were some of the best!
Not to be outdone on Sunday 21st January, we had MOJO WEBB [keyboard, guitar, vocals, [what a voice!!!]], and his band of great showmen, JON [bass, vocals], DAN [guitar], JB [guitar], COOJEE [drums], GREG [harmonica] tell us what Chicago Blues is all about.
A slow “Chicken Shack” gave Greg his chance to inform that “Champagne and Reefer” is a good combination!!!! “Wild About You Baby”, “Fattening Frogs”, “Streamlined Woman” were some great blues in the first set. Second set opened with “Good Morning Blues”, then the blues got downright mean and dirty.
Great stuff for listenin', tappin' the toes, or jumpin' around on the floor. It was a “Damn Shame” and “I got my Mojo Working” that finished the afternoon. Ben on sound did his usual masterly sound control. An afternoon to remember!! Close the eyes and you are Chicago bound!!
MOJO WEBB and THE CHICAGO CELEBRATION BAND are the real McCoy!!!
